What is sell.stootsi.com?
Simple question, simple answer. Sell.stootsi.com is an open marketplace where you sell stuff. We have customers, you have cool stuff. Think of it as a cheaper alternative, or addition, to where you may be currently selling your merchandise. You can read more about the inner workings of Stootsi.com by clicking here.
How does it work?
Even more simple. You sign up for a selling account here. You can upload inventory on an item-by-item basis using our single item upload tool, or in bulk using our bulk listing tool. When a product sells, we alert you of a sale via email. You can also download order reports in Seller Manager and process orders in bulk.
Ok, great, but what does selling here get me?
Glad you asked. When you sign up for a selling account and upload inventory, your products will immediately be cycled into our rotating homepage deals located at sell.stootsi.com. Your inventory will also appear for free in our store, as well as shopping engines such as google product search. Additionally, you'll receive your own storefront, so you can brand your items and send them to your current customers. We are adding new features daily - we want you to succeed as a seller here at Stootsi.com.
I'm intrigued. What are the fees?
Since sell.stootsi.com is currently in "beta", meaning it's a new project and we are adding features daily, currently there are no account setup fees or subscription fees. Additionally, there are no listing fees. Currently there is a flat 5% fee on anything that successfully sells, as well as a credit card fee of 2.5% + .30 per transaction. Over time, we may incorporate a monthly subscription fee of $9.99 to use our bulk listing tool and for dedicated account service, but for the time being, there is no up front cost or monthly fee. Again, we want you to be successful (sell stuff) and save money in the process. We don't have a fancy table to show you how much cheaper we are than Amazon or Ebay - you can do that research on your own. We already know we are cheaper than those services, and we'll let you run your business the way you know how. You know what's best for your business - not us.
To recap:
  • No listing fees, no store fees, no sign-up fees
  • 5% item fee when product sells. This fee is deducted from the total payment revenue (ie sale + shipping)
How do I get paid?
When an item sells, we place the funds into your "Stash" - Stootsi cash. Deposits are made into a seller account every 14 days via ACH deposit or via paypal (you select your payment method when you sign up). Orders, account balances, and all things selling can be found in Seller Manager.
How does feedback work?
We believe feedback should be simple. A buyer can leave a rating for a seller 10 days after an item is purchased. If a feedback is not left 21 days after a sale, we assume the transaction was successful and issue an automatic positive for the seller. Buyers do not and cannot receive feedback from a seller.
Why should I sell here?
Several reasons, hopefully. It is our belief that in today's web economy, you should brand yourself in as many places as possible. Thus, you should give us a shot!

Most importantly, we consider ourselves very, very, seller-friendly. We know you might be coming from ebay, disgruntled and disenchanted, or simply tired of the very expensive fees. We completely understand. Help us build a better marketplace. We all badly need one.
Managing Orders? Seller Manager? Other stuff?
Everything you need as a seller can be found by accessing Seller Manager. Currently you can access Seller Manager by logging in to Stootsi.com, clicking "My Stootsi", and clicking "Access Seller Manager". You can then view orders, add inventory, upload tracking information, and more.
Are there any other selling requirements?
We do not have any "seller size" or product requirements to be a third-party merchant.
We do, however, expect sellers to abide to the following:
  • Answer questions and resolve customer inquiries in a reasonable amount of time
  • Ship products in a safe, timely, and effective manner
  • Upload tracking information into Seller Manager in a reasonable amount of time
  • Maintain complete and accurate contact information
Stootsi.com reserves the right to limit or suspend any seller, at any time, in our discretion, for any reason. Keep in mind this is not a threat - run a good business and you'll never hear from us. Ship products on time, build a brand for yourself, and save money in the process!
